I wanted to write, words that would make your heart beat faster, leave you wanting more. I wanted to do everything, be everything, see everything and not just through a lens. Through a microscope, a telescope and I wanted to be the stars. I wanted to watch over you at night and tell you that things will get better.
You said you were crazy but I was crazy about you. I realised that when I realised I’d do anything for you. I’d give up caffeine, nicotine, anything just to be with you. They said love was a drug and I didn’t know if I’d found it but I didn’t need anything else so I guess that’s what we were. Lovers. We weren’t friends because friends didn’t do that. Friends didn’t hold each other all night and talk about our dreams. They just don’t.

This song contains one of my favourite lyrics in the world. I love that. I love the idea of the 90’s riot grrl bands who promoted loving your fellow women more than men through insanely amazing grunge rock. Hole are like my un-guilty pleasure, and the Celebrity Skin album is one of the best albums I own. Also I like the idea that I’m a storm in the form of a girl.
Take a moment and think. Think about how much you’ve grown over the past little while. Think of everything you’ve lost, and everything you’ve gained. Think about the changes, the giant and the insignificant. Remember the t-shirt you used to love and the people - remember that you don’t love them so much any more, but that’s okay. Appreciate the people you love right now, and love them more because of it. Love yourself because you’re realising exactly what it means to be you right now. Love being you right now. Don’t dwell on the past, but never forget it either.
